BLAINE, Minn. – (Jan. 12, 2017) – The annual Community Wellness Day put on by Anoka-Hennepin Community Education will take place on Saturday January, 21st at Roosevelt Middle School in Blaine. The event is design to improve general community wellness in a number of different areas.
“Community Wellness Day is an opportunity for our community members to come to one place to explore all areas of wellness, whether it be nutrition, physical exercise, emotional and mental well being. It gives them an opportunity to come to different classes, to meet different instructors, and to meet with over 40 local vendors that can help them in all areas of their wellness,” said Anoka-Hennepin community education coordinator Jennifer Gilbert.
New this year will be a focus on financial wellness which is the focus of the keynote speaker.
“This year we are bringing in as our keynote speaker Jarrid Sebesta, he’s from KARE 11. He’s a meteorologist who left at the height of his career to pursue his dream. Now he travels and helps others just prepare financially so that they can move forward and pursue their dreams as well,” said Gilbert.
The free event will also include a variety of health screenings, an activity gym for kids, art activities, several different seminars and much more. Community Wellness Day fits with the overall mission of Anoka-Hennepin Community Education.
“Anoka-Hennepin Community Education really wants to help our community in all areas from early childhood all the way through our seniors. We want to take care of them and part of that is our wellness,” said Gilbert.
At the conclusion of Community Wellness Day the Roosevelt pool will open for a free open swim time. For more information about Community Wellness Day click here.
