COON RAPIDS, Minn. – (March 5, 2015) – A Coon Rapids man is facing multiple felony counts after repeatedly entering unlocked homes and making quick thefts.
Jacob Shultz, 20, has been arrested and linked to at least 14 burglaries or attempted burglaries in Coon Rapids.
According to the criminal complaint, after burglarizing homes, Shultz returned to several of them days or months later to find that the homes were still unlocked and then burglarized the same home for a second or third time.
Over three different visits to one house, Shultz admitted to taking $250 in cash from the same purse in the same home.
In one case, he admitted to burglarizing the same home five times.
He was finally caught and arrested last week when someone reported seeing a suspicious man in the neighborhood in the early morning hours. Shultz has been charged with five counts of first degree burglary. His bail has been set at $100,000.
He is also a suspect in several burglaries in Maple Grove.
