COON RAPIDS, Minn. – A Coon Rapids man is facing eleven felony child pornography charges in Anoka County District Court. Daniel Lawrence Kennedy, 26, was charged with five counts of using minors in sexual performance and pornographic work, one count of dissemination of pornographic work, and five counts of pornographic work involving minors.
Investigations by the Anoka County Sherriff’s department began in late May after a report that Kennedy had taken nude photographs of a 12-year-old girl. Kennedy allegedly paid the girl for the photographs in November of 2012.
According to reports, the girl also claims she went with Kennedy to a Good Will in early to mid-May of this year. Kennedy asked her if she wanted to earn more money for pictures. When the girl agreed, Kennedy sent her to a dressing room with his camera where she allegedly took partially nude photographs of herself.
Investigators seized a camera, several thumb drives, and a computer from Kennedy’s home. Kennedy admitted to sharing photos of the girl over email, and alleged that he was in possession of over 3,000 of child pornography and 250 child pornography videos.
On June 20th Kennedy posted $25,000 bail on the condition that he have no contact with the victim, no use of cameras, computers, or access to the internet. Kennedy’s next court date is set for July 24th.
