(LINO LAKES) – Just two years ago, the future for Chomonix Golf Course looked bleak.
“Anoka County was considering potentially to re-purpose the golf course,” said Anoka County Parks Director Jeff Perry. “It was operating in the red for several consecutive years.”
The county board instead decided to give it three years to turn things around.
Then, the COVID-19 pandemic changed things seemingly overnight in Spring 2020.

Figures show that greens fees, golf cart rentals, and driving range rounds were up much higher than forecasted for 2020, while facility rentals, food and beverage sales, and advertising sales were down.
“People are chomping at the bit to golf Chomonix,” said Perry. The course opened nearly three weeks earlier this season than it did in 2020, and he expects the trend to continue.
“The community has embraced it,” he said. “We’re looking forward to a very successful year at Chomonix.”
