Also on Friday, a warning from Blaine police circulated about possible threats to business. This followed some disturbances at Northtown Mall on Thursday evening.
According to an e-mail to businesses from Blaine Police Chief Brian Podany, “Law enforcement has received information that organized groups intend on traveling throughout the metro area with the intention on disrupting commerce, looting, and damaging property. The City of Blaine was specifically named as a target of this group.”
He goes on to urge business owners to do what they think is best to keep from falling victim to looters or other criminal or damaging behavior.
“At this time, all we can provide you is that there are credible threats to the City of Blaine as well as the majority of other suburbs in the metro area.”
