(BLAINE) – Crown Iron Works officially broke ground on its new world headquarters and global innovation center in Blaine.
The company is an international supplier of oilseed extraction technology, refining, and processing products. It also has locations in the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and China.
The site, near the 95th Avenue Park & Ride on Naples Street, will now house the headquarters that’s been located in Roseville for 30 years. It will also bring 15-20 new jobs over the next few years. That will bring the total number of workers at the new facility to more than 100. According to a company press release, the majority of the jobs it will add will pay more than $110,000 a year.
“The profile of who we hire would be mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, project managers, and highly-skilled people who are doing really creative and innovative product design,” said Bill Antilla, Crown Iron Works General Manager.
Developers, city leaders, and company management praised the new site in Blaine for its size, scope, potential, and amenities including its proximity to Interstate 35W and the homes of many current employees.
It will be open and ready for operations as soon as Summer 2019.
