BLAINE, Minn. – (Feb. 19, 2015) – Governor Dayton released his transportation plan this week that includes more than 600 road and bridge improvements across the state.
More than half of Minnesota’s roads have been around longer than 50 years, and 40 percent of our bridges are more than 40 years old.
The Governor’s proposal would invest 6 billion dollars over the next ten years to address the state’s highway funding.
Two of the larger projects proposed for the north metro include the Highway 169 bridge over the Mississippi and three miles of improvements on Highway 47 through Anoka and Ramsey.
There would be an additional 2.3 billion dollars in local government transportation projects and the plan would provide nearly 3 billion dollars for transit systems across the state.
