ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. – As April draws to a close, people in more than 192 countries across the globe are gathering to celebrate Earth Day. The holiday was pioneered by John McConnell in the early 1970’s.
McConnell established the day in an effort to promote awareness and support for environmental protection. This year, the global Earth Day Network has placed a special emphasis on climate change. They are asking people to learn more about the ways that humans impact the environment.
