ANOKA, Minn. (August 29, 2013) – More than 18 pounds of methampethamines were found in an Anoka home the week of August 18. The recovered drugs are estimated at a value of up to $1 million.
According to the criminal complaint, the Anoka-Hennepin Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of 21-year-old Cesar Ruben Fletes-Ortiz and found 8,308 grams, or 18.54 pounda, of meth in various containers in a gun safe inside the home. Along with the drugs, officers also found a ledger book documenting drug sales, a digital scale, three guns and $10,000 in cash. This amount of meth would equal more than 100,000 doses, and have a street value between $500,000 and $1 million dollars.
Fletes was arrested and charged with two felony drug counts: one for possession of a controlled substance, and one for intent to sell. If convicted of both counts, he could be sentenced to up to 60 years in prison. His bail has been set at $2 million.
