LEXINGTON, Minn. – (June 17, 2016) – Lexington was honored this week as a GreenStep City. The honor was presented at the annual League of Minnesota Cities conference.
Lexington has achieved the first two steps of the five step program. Actions taken by Lexington to become a greener city include: having a weekly farmers market during the growing season, researching the energy efficiency of city equipment, regulating lawn sprinkling, and using recycled paper at city hall.
The city will continue to look for more ways to encourage residents to live a green lifestyle in the future as they continue to build the program.
