ANOKA, Minn. – (Aug. 20, 2015) – The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is joining the nationwide trend of law enforcement agencies designating an area in their parking lots for the general public to use as “Exchange Zones.” They are providing a safe place for the general public to conduct transactions for online sales, child custody visitation exchanges, or any other time they meet with a person and feel the need for an added layer of safety. The new “Exchange Zone” signs will direct people to the area of the parking lot at the sheriff’s office that is best covered by a 24-hour video surveillance system. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office also offers the use of the inside public lobby for exchanges on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
