BLAINE, Minn. (Oct. 31, 2013) — Blaine will be home to a new urgent care facility run by Fairview Health Services. Opening in 2014, Fairview Emergent Care will be a 11,000-square-foot medical facility at the intersection of 35W and Lexington Avenue.
Fairview officials said that the site will be staffed by emergency physicians; however, ambulances will not take emergency patients directly to the facility. This new development is the most recent in a group of projects planned around the metro to create independent medical centers that offer various services usually provided by regular urgent care and ER facilities.
This will be Blaine’s second medical facility designed to blend urgent care and emergency services. Earlier this year, North Memorial teamed with Multicare Associates to open an Urgency Center at the Blaine Medical Center.
