CIRCLE PINES, Minn. (August 22, 2013) — In the early morning hours on Sunday, August 18, officers from the Centennial Lakes Police Department were dispatched to a one vehicle crash at the 4500 block of 85th Avenue in Circle Pines. The driver, a 24-year-old man from Shoreview, was found ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Another 24-year-old male from Fridley, who was allegedly the passenger in the car, was hurt and taken to a local hospital. Excessive speed appears to be the major factor in the crash, which is currently under investigation by the Centennial Lakes Police Department. Additional assistance is also being provided by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. Authorities have not yet released the names of the two individuals involved.
