The festival is a celebration of the city’s French-Canadian beginnings, and also a great time to experience the city’s parks, lakes and trails. Each year, there is also a theme to the festival, most notably seen at Saturday’s parade. This year, Centerville will be celebrating the Centennial School District.
“This year’s them is Cougar Pride,” said Mayor Jeff Parr. “We’re celebrating not only the sports teams, but the school itself.”
There are a few changes to events this year. The fireworks will be at LaMotte Park on Friday at 10 pm, and Saturday morning’s run starts early than it has before at 7:30 am.
