CIRCLE PINES, Minn. (July 30, 2013) — The filing period has opened for candidates interested in running for Mayor or Council in Circle Pines or Lino Lakes, as well as for candidates interested in running for Spring Lake Park or Anoka-Hennepin School Board.
In both Circle Pines and Lino Lakes, the mayor’s seat is a two year position, and city council is four years. Two of each of their council seats will be up for election this fall. To file for either of these offices, stop by city hall.
In the Anoka-Hennepin School District, voters will be electing three school board members by district. District Three includes Champlin, along with portions of Dayton and Coon Rapids. District Four includes portions of Nowthen, Ham Lake, Oak Grove, Andover and Ramsey. District Six includes parts of Coon Rapids and Andover.
The Spring Lake Park School District will be electing four school board members this fall, and all of their members are elected at large. School Board seats in both districts last for four years.
To file for school board, stop by the Anoka County Elections Office in the Government Center in Anoka. Filing for all of these seats will be open through August 13.
