COON RAPIDS, Minn. (Sept. 27, 2013) — A staple in the community has reached an impressive milestone. After opening its doors in 1933, Financial One Credit Union recently celebrated its 80th anniversary. The week of celebration was marked with events at all three of the credit union’s locations. A ribbon cutting ceremony and cook-out took place at Financial One’s Coon Rapids location, where company President Ross Bloomquist spoke about the special relationship the company shares with the community.
“It comes back to our employees– we’ve done a lot to invest in our employees, we’ve done a lot to invest in out communities,” Bloomquist explained. “By supporting non-profits like SACA Food Shelf… Free to Be, and other organizations…we’re trying to do whatever we can to assist local businesses.
Bloomquist also talked about the company’s rich history, and why it has remained successful throughout the years. Above all, he attributes the thriving relationship between Financial One Credit Union and the areas it serves to the unending support from the community. “They support one another, they support local businesses” says Bloomquist. “I know our employees do, and I know that those businesses support us too. And it’s genuine, and it’s a great community to work in.”
