BLAINE, Minn. – Every Memorial Day, many in our community visit local cemeteries to pay respects to those who served in the United States Armed Forces. This Memorial Day Weekend, on Saturday, May 25, The Flowerama on University Avenue in Blaine is partnering with The Sgt. John Rice VFW post and Blaine’s “Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee” in the nationwide Memorial Day Flowers program.
Flowerama will be giving out roses to visitors at Morningside Cemetary, located at 11800 University Ave North in Coon Rapids. Each visitor will receive one or two roses free of charge to place on a headstone to honor someone who served and show respect.
The Flowerama is looking for volunteers to help them honor our nation’s veterans by handing out roses on that day. You can get involved by calling them at 763-755-7100.
