Soon after he saved up the money and purchased his own flyboard. Since then he has traveled as far away as Dubai competing in flyboarding competitions and is now regarded as one of the best flyboarders in the world. “It’s literally the ability to fly. You have a pair of boots on your feet, then that hooks up to the jet ski. So there’s a hose, there’s the piece that hooks up to the jet ski, and now all the thrust that would normally propel the jet ski forward is now put into the hose and coming out of your feet and shooting you straight up in the air,” said Gavic. Caleb and his family run Skyhigh Flyboards, a company that sells the flyboarding products and also offers flyboarding experiences. Caleb has fallen in love with flyboarding and gets great satisfaction out of helping others experience it for the first time.
“One thing I love about this sport is that I get people up and they have a blast. I love making people happy,” said Gavic.
Caleb makes it look quite easy and while you won’t be pulling of any tricks at first he says he will get you up and flying within a matter of minutes.
“People come to me and say how hard is it? I give them a little nudge, they catch their balance, and I say you can do it. As long as people listen to me and do exactly what I say, I’ll make sure you get up,” said Gavic. “I’m there sitting in the jet ski training you on how to do it, how to be safe, how do go about getting up flying. We teach you everything you need to know,” said Gavic.
“My most favorite thing for me is just sitting there extending that 50 foot mark and just hovering. Just sitting there like this hovering over the water looking over the tree line, over the houses.”
