LINO LAKES, Minn. – (Oct. 31, 2018) – Voters in Lino Lakes will decide school funding questions on Election Day. That includes those in precincts where students attend Lino Lakes Elementary School, which is part of the Forest Lake School District.
The district has a levy referendum, asking for what would amount to approximately $111 per $100,000 home to help fund what the district reports would be an additional $825 per student.
According to the district, if the increase does not pass, the cost-cutting possibilities may include closing or combining schools, increasing class sizes and charging for transportation for students at other schools, like charter schools, that rely on district transportation.
