Free Car Seat Inspection in Lino Lakes

LINO LAKES, MN. – (June 22, 2017) – The Lino Lakes Public Safety Department is offering free car seat inspections for Lino Lakes residents on June 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lino Lakes Fire Station on Birch Street.

Minnesota’s Child Passenger Restraint Law states that: a child who is under 8 years old and shorter than 4 feet 9 inches is required to be fastened in a child safety seat that meets federal safety standards. Children must be secured in the safety seat; and that seat must be secured to the vehicle. Infants must be in a rear-facing safety seat. And beyond the legal aspect of a proper child seat, a seat installed correctly can significantly increase safety during an accident.
