FRIDLEY, MINN. – (May 8, 2015) – Spring Lake Park Schools will again participate in the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost to all children ages 1-18 at Woodcrest Spanish Immersion, 880 Osborne Road, Fridley.
The program will run each Monday through Thursday, from Tuesday, June 9 to Thursday, August 27. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. The program is open to all children – not limited to Woodcrest or Spring Lake Park Schools’ participants – up to the capacity of the facility.
This is the fifth year that the summer food service program will be provided at Woodcrest. The program is available from the USDA and is based on the number of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. The program’s purpose is to make meals available to area children who may otherwise not eat properly or often enough.
