FRIDLEY, Minn. – (March 26, 2015) – A Fridley woman allegedly set her trailer home on fire and has now been charged with two counts of arson.
According to the criminal report, Jennifer Beck, 43, called police to the home for an assault that took place earlier that night. Beck told the police a man had struck her in the face and left the home.
She told them she did not want to press charges. She then became angry, and started to yell at the officers, called them names and demanded them to leave. The police stayed in the area, and within minutes of leaving, officers noticed a thick smoke near the home.
When they arrived, Beck was gone and her boyfriend told them that she threatened him and started the fire. The trailer was destroyed by the fire and damage was done to a nearby trailer as well.
Beck was located within a few hours and taken to jail.
According to reports, Beck started the fire because she was upset that her boyfriend did not defend her more quickly in the assault.
