COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. – (July 27, 2017) – A fugitive wanted for a murder committed in April in Columbia Heights has been arrested by the FBI the in Chicago. The fugitive is identified as Phillip Leron Miller and has been charged with murder in the second degree.
The 41-year-old fugitive fled after the murder now also faces a federal charge for traveling from Minnesota to Chicago to avoid prosecution. The victim was Borer Nelson. Nelson went to his ex-girlfriend’s home on the day of his death and had a confrontation with Miller. The police found Nelson’s body covered in blood behind a couch with multiple gunshot wounds.
Borer Nelson was a student adviser, a father, and a business owner.
