COON RAPIDS, Minn. – Gunshots rang out in a Coon Rapids neighborhood last weekend, as the bullets pierced the sides of two townhomes. Late in the evening of July 5, police were called after Mikhail Dudyrev had been allegedly firing his handgun on Robinson Drive.
According to the criminal complaint, police found ten bullet holes in the siding of the townhomes and several bullet casings in the area as well. Police found Dudyrev near the front door of a neighboring apartment building. He ignored police orders to show his hands, and began to reach towards the waistband of his shorts, when officers saw a semi-automatic handgun on his hip.
Officers tried to detain him, but he resisted with force, ultimately leading the officers to use a tazer and K-9 officer to subdue him. Dudyrev’s blood alcohol level tested at 0.216 at the scene.
He has been charged with the intentional discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm within a city, criminal damage to property, and obstructing the legal process. If convicted of all charges, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and up to $28,000 in fines. Dudyrev has a history of several alcohol related crime convictions.
