BLAINE, Minn. (August 8, 2013) — The Powerball drawing reached its third highest jackpot total ever this week, and one of three winning tickets sold nationwide was sold right here in Anoka County. Paul White of Ham Lake will be splitting the $448 million prize with two people in New Jersey, taking home a lump sum payment of about $86 million, or $58 million after taxes.
White bought the winning ticket at the Holiday Station on Crosstown Boulevard in Ham Lake. The store will receive at $50,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
In addition to the ticket for a share of the Powerball prize, another ticket for nearly $900,000 was sold in Minnesota. Incidentally, that ticket was also sold in Anoka County.
