LEXINGTON, Minn. – (Sept. 15, 2016) – While no one officially filed for a city council seat in Lexington, some changes have come to their council, and one residents is planning a write-in campaign.
In August, councilmember Jack Plasch resigned from the city council for health reasons.
His seat was one of the seats that will be on the ballot this fall. Since then, the mayor appointed park board member Diane Harris to fill the remainder of Plasch’s term.
Now, Harris is also planning on running as a write-in candidate for one of the four-year council seats that the community will be electing in November. Harris appears to be the first candidate to publicly announce a write-in campaign.
