ANOKA, Minn. (September 5, 2013) – Motorists breathed a sigh of relief this week as the three week lane closure on Highway 10 in Anoka came to an end. Highway 10 had been reduced to a single lane in each direction between 7th Avenue and Green Haven Road causing major delays in the area. The closure was a part of a larger project that will see Highway 10 resurfaced from Hanson Boulevard to Fairoak Avenue. The project will be completed by mid-October and any additional lane closures will only be temporary and occur outside of peak travel times.
Additionally, Bunker Lake Boulevard reopened last week between 7th Avenue and Round Lake Boulevard. The roadway had been closed since May. Anoka County is completing a project to widen Bunker Lake Boulevard to four lanes in that area.
While traffic will be moving more smoothly in those areas, a new closure will begin on September 9. Highway 47 will be closed at the Ferry Street railroad crossing, located just north of Highway 10. This closure will last for 7 days. The project will include safety upgrades at the railroad crossing.
