SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. (August 22, 2013) — MnDOT will be closing part of Highway 65 this weekend in Spring Lake Park. Construction crews will be painting the beams on the pedestrian walking bridge that spans the highway. Motorists will experience delays from both directions on Highway 65, between Osborne Rd. NE and 81st Ave. NE. The full closure will occur between the hours of 10 p.m. on Friday, August 23, and will re-open at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 26. Drivers will be able to bypass the closed segment of Highway 65, by utilizing the posted detour of I-694 to I-35W.
The work being performed is part of the Spring Lake Park pedestrian bridge renewal project, which is being renovated with pedestrian accessibility upgrades.
