Holiday Giving Opportunities

BLAINE, Minn. – (Nov. 17, 2016) – The holiday season is here, and it is a time of year known for the gift of giving.  There are a few local opportunities to make someone’s life a little brighter during the holidays.

TOYS FOR JOY

Toys for Joy is a local organization with a goal to get toys under the Christmas tree for every child in Anoka County.

“One hundred percent of the toys that come in stay in Anoka County,” said Toys for Joys President Michael Hunstad. “One hundred percent of the funds that are raised stay in Anoka County. So it’s a nice local thing knowing that everything is going to stay right here in our community.”

More than 1,200 families will be get to take part in a holiday shopping experience thanks to Toys for Joys. Families get toys, books, food, and the opportunity to meet with service agencies who might be able to provide more family support.

Circle Pines is currently accepting winter gear including coats, hats, mittens, and scarves, for all ages and sizes in connection with One Warm Coat.  The organization takes used and new winter wear and gives it to those who are in need.  Drop off for clothing can be found at the Food Shelf in the Circle Pines City Hall.
