ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. – When the snow melts every year, we are left with plenty of potholes on our roads. Because of the damage potholes can cause, the county and the cities will begin filling potholes as soon as the weather allows. Cities are responsible for their roads, and the county is responsible for county roads. They try to keep up the best that they can, but they don’t automatically know the location of every pothole in their city or county limits.
To help identify locations of potholes through the county, the highway department has set up a webpage that allows residents to easily report the location of potholes. It is a simple form where you enter your name and contact information, as well as the location of the pothole – including the city it’s in, the name or number of the road and nearest cross streets, and the direction a vehicle would be traveling to come in contact with the pothole.
