BLAINE, Minn. (Sept. 26, 2013) — The week of Oct. 6-12 is National Fire Prevention Week. In honor of this, the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department will be hosting open houses at all of its four fire stations in late September and early October.
- 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Fire Station No. 1, 1710 County Road 10, in Spring Lake Park.
- 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 at Fire Station No. 2, 1149 89th Ave. NE, in Blaine.
- 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Fire Station No. 3, 11920 Ulysses St. NE, in Blaine.
- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Fire Station No. 4, 10290 Lever St. NE, in Blaine.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the fire stations, explore on-site emergency vehicles, learn home safety tips and watch live demonstrations. Children’s activities from previous years include the chance to ride in the bucket of the stations’ aerial trucks, putting out a mock fire with a real fire hose, making s’mores, and trying on firefighter gear.
