COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. – (Jan. 28, 2016) – On Jan. 23, a man was shot and killed in Columbia Heights and the man police believe responsible for the killing is on the loose.
Police have charged Evan Ramon Denny, 20, with second degree murder. Law enforcement is actively looking for Denny and they are seeking the public’s help in locating him.
Denny is described as:
- Native American male
- 5 feet 8 inches tall
- 216 pounds
- Brown hair
- Brown eyes
- Wears glasses
- Has braces
- Has his last name “Denny” tattooed on his right arm.
Police also believe that Denny is receiving assistance from others as he evades capture.
According to the criminal complaint, the homicide allegedly occurred after an argument over a cell phone.
Police do caution that if you see Denny do not approach him instead call 911 immediately.
UPDATE – (Feb. 18, 2016) – Evan Ramon Denny has also been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon in Minneapolis. He is still at large, and the US Marshals have joined the search.
UPDATE – (Feb. 23, 2016) – Evan Ramon Denny has been apprehended by the Red Lake tribal police on the Red Lake Reservation in northern Minnesota. He has been charged in Anoka County with second-degree murder. Since Denny was taken into custody on a reservation, which is a sovereign entity, Anoka County has begun extradition procedures.
