FRIDLEY, Minn. – (March 29, 2018) – Last week the Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well-being held their 3rd annual chili cook-off. The event pits teams of chili makers from around the north metro all vying for the top prize while bringing in big dollars for mental health programs.
“It’s a big fundraiser for us,” said Lee Carlson Center’s executive director Rob Edwards. “We’re working hard to fund programs that have no other way to succeed unless we have the support of folks in our community.”
Lee Carlson Center is based in Fridley and serves thousands across Anoka County. They’ve been in service for more than 38 years. Rob sees Lee Carlson Center’s work as vital to the overall health of the community.
“We play a role, and important role of supporting the mental wellness of those in our community.”
The winner of the chili cook-off this year was the team from Rise Incorporated a non-profit located in Spring Lake Park.
