LEXINGTON, Minn. – (Sept. 13, 2018) – The Lexington Fall Fest is the weekend of Sept. 21 and it’s a big celebration in a small town.
“Lexington Fall Fest is a celebration of our community, bringing together businesses and families and the community just together to celebrate what we have here,” said Heidi Zaworski, one of the planners of the festival. “It’s getting bigger and better every single year, so we have some new things that we added this year that are really exciting along with some of the staples that we’ve done over the years and have served us well, so we’re excited and looking forward to a great weekend.”
This will be the third year of the Lexington Fall Fest and many new events were added to the lineup this year including: movie night, yoga in the park, inflatable’s for kids and a four person bungee trampoline. The organizers hope to use all the fun events to bring the community together.
“It’s a nice way to meet neighbors to get to know where they go to church maybe where they shop, maybe they have a business of their own where their kids go to school, it’s just a nice opportunity for everybody to start conversations, whether they’re standing in line, whether they’re running the 5K, watching the movies at the park, kids are going to gather, families are going to gather and it’s a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their ware at our vendor fair, so we’re inviting businesses, non-profits and arts and crafts vendors, so that’s a nice way to start a conversation about what you do hear in our community and how you give back,” Zaworski said.
The highlight of the weekend for many is the fireworks show.
“The park and rec are involved this year and that’s how we got the yoga in the park which is a wonderful addition and then the quad chambers is also involved this year, it’s really a celebration of what we have here, and it’s not just about Lexington but the surrounding communities as well so we shop there, we work there, we go to school there, let’s celebrate what we have here in our own little community,” she said.
The Lexington Fall Fest takes place on Sept. 21, 22 and 23. Most of the events are near Cowboys Saloon in Lexington.
