LEXINGTON, Minn. (Oct. 11, 2013) – The Lexington City Council voted to formally extend an offer to Bill Petracek to be the city’s next City Administrator. Current City Administrator Dot Heifort will retire after providing Petracek some on the job training.
The council has authorized Lexington’s staff attorney to negotiate a contract with Petracek which will be brought back to the council for final approval. The search for a new city administrator took many months and was recently moved forward with the help of a consulting firm.
Petracek has more than 18 years of experience and is currently the city administrator in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. The council’s other finalist for the position was Mike Ericson, the former city administrator in Hugo.
