ANOKA, Minn. – (April 16, 2020) – Anoka County license centers are still closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but when they reopen there may be new protection for staff and customers. The county approved spending up to $109,000 for constructing glass panels at counters at the five license centers.
County officials say it’s not a temporary barrier like you see in grocery stores. Supporters say it’s something that would help in the long term by providing a barrier to viruses like colds and the flu as well as COVID-19. The glass panels would also offer better security. Final cost estimates are expected later in April.
