(LINO LAKES) – Lino Lakes city leaders officially chose a new ambulance provider after months of uncertainty ahead of a June 1st deadline.
Allina Health will now house an ambulance and a crew at Lino Lakes Fire Station 1. The city’s current agreement with M Health Fairview ends at the end of May.
“Allina has a long-standing relationship in Anoka County,” said Lino Lakes Public Safety Director John Swenson at this week’s council meeting. “In talking with other partners in both police and fire in those jurisdictions, they had very positive things to say.”
Swenson had lobbied state regulators to get city leaders a voice in the decisions to choose a new provider for the Lino Lakes primary coverage area. Earlier this year, it was still uncertain how much input the city could or would get.
