LINO LAKES, Minn. – (June 18, 2015) – After a decade of parading down hundreds of streets during city festivals all across the state of Minnesota, the Lino Lakes Ambassador parade float received a fresh new makeover for the new parade season.
Ray Culp, the float designer, stated, “We noticed the float was starting to show a little bit of wear. So we decided it’s been about 10 to 11 years, so it was time to give it a refresh.”
Those helping design and reconstruct the parade float wanted to make sure the float continued to represent the city of Lino Lakes, including the love of nature with a few new additions.
Culp commented on his favorite new additions, “I kind of like the tackle box and the fishing rod because I think it speaks a lot about Lino Lakes. And Lino Lakes is a great community and there’s several lakes in it and the creek; and a lot of people who spend a lot of time outside fishing, and just enjoying nature.”
This project took many dedicated volunteers and countless hours, but their hard work will be well worth it this parade season and many to come.
Grateful, Culp added, “I couldn’t have done it on my own. I mean, I’m the one getting interviewed, but it was a total group effort and if it wasn’t for the great people of the City of Lino Lakes, this would have never happened.”
