BLAINE, Minn. – (May 31, 2018) – The Emberwood Apartments in Blaine have unveiled something relatively new in apartment living: smart home technology.
“We are one of the very first smart apartments in all of the Twin Cities,” said Mike Kaeding, president of Norhart.
Mike and his team designed their app to work with existing smart devices and smart light bulbs. With their technology, you can turns lights on and off with your voice, get notified when your door opens if you aren’t home, set up lights to turn on and off if you are away to make it look like you are home, change the thermostat, and more.
“My favorite feature is the lights in the morning…if the lights can slowly dim up for you before the alarm goes off you wake up much more naturally,” said Karding.
Mike’s company, Norhart, manages more than a dozen properties of various sizes in the north metro. He sees them all adopting this technology is the future.
“Our focus is all about creating a better way for people to live,” said Kaeding.
He also thinks that this is the future of how a home will work for nearly everyone.
