BLAINE, Minn. – (Dec. 3, 2015) – Rahmad Lashad Geddes, 36, of Blaine was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for sex trafficking.
He recruited an 18-year-old woman from Eau Claire, Wisconsin and brought her to Duluth. He took pictures of her and used a prepaid credit card to post an advertisement on backpage.com. Geddes arranged for the victim to meet several men who paid for sex.
After one meeting, Geddes accused the victim of withholding money and physically assaulted her.
Eight days after she was taken, Geddes returned the victim to her home and she immediately reported what had happened.
Geddes has four previous felony convictions in multiple counties.
In addition to the trafficking conviction, he was also convicted of transportation with the intent to engage in prostitution, and being an armed career criminal in possession of a firearm.
Once his prison sentence is up, he will remain on probation for the rest of his life.
