That’s where the Main Street Market takes place in July and August.
“We’ve got this down,” said Angela Conley, who coordinates the market. “We understand what people are looking for.”
“There’s something here for everyone,” said Centerville Mayor Nancy Golden.
Said Conley: “It’s growing every year.”
This is the fifth year of the Main Street Market in Centerville. The initial event of 2025 was in mid-July and visitors came from all across the North Metro.
“For a city that has less than 5,000 people we sure have a lot going on,” Conley said. “We call it our summer in Centerville series and what that consists of is the Fete des Lacs city-wide festival that takes place for a full week in mid-July. We have the music in the park on Tuesday evening. We have the Bald Eagle Water Ski Show on Thursday evenings and of course we have the Centerville Main Street Market which also takes place Thursday evenings right before the Bald Eagle Water Ski Show.”
Close to 30 vendors are at the market each week, selling crafts, knick-knacks and food.
“It’s just that draw to Centerville, our small-town charm and that everyone feels so welcome when they come here,” Golden said. “The vendors that I’m talking to are from all around. There’s been some from Roseville, White Bear Lake and there’s also a few from here in Centerville.”
Hand-crafted and home-made
This is the ultimate buy local event – the products are all hand-crafted and home-made.
“With this market we also require that all of our vendors make their own food, their own products,” Conley said. “That’s unique because what you’re getting is a lot of items from small businesses, woman-owned businesses.”
“Lots of vendors over here and stuff,” said Missy McGough of Blaine. “Lots of different food options. Kids are having a blast. It’s a great night to be outside. The weather is awesome.”
The Main Street Market also has food truck options, is incredibly pet-friendly and there’s even a local band that entertains the visitors.
“It’s very fun,” said Finn Mouz who was part of the Boy Scout exhibit at the market. “You can do things. I was just drinking a Boba and ate a corn dog. It’s very fun. I love this.”
“I like the Boba here, it’s really good,” said Olivia McGough, one of the may kids at the market. “I like the crochet stand. It’s really fun to look at all the stuff.”
Conley is the person who makes the market go – for her it’s a labor of love.
“It’s been very rewarding,” Conley said. “Sometimes people ask why I put so much work into it, a volunteer position. But this is why – I just love seeing people getting out and enjoying themselves.”
Conley’s efforts are definitely paying off.
“I would come again,” Missy McGough said. “It was a very fun night out.”
“Every week is a bit different,” Conley said. “When you come you’re going to find different vendors from the week before. It’s something new each week.”
Some of the upcoming themes at this year’s Main Street Market include special nights for the community, kids and pets.
