SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. – (Nov. 10, 2016) – This week a caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Precision Tune in Spring Lake Park with a person slumped over in the drivers seat. Officers responded to the scene and found Don Alan Johnson asleep in the vehicle.
Once awoken by police Johnson told the officer that he had arrived to work early and was sleeping until his co-workers arrived. The responding officer ran a license plate check on Johnson’s vehicle and discovered it was reported stolen from Wisconsin. Further examination of the vehicle find the VIN number did not match the plates and the truck was actual a stolen vehicle from Spring Lake Park.
Johnson was arrested and upon booking into the Anoka County Jail 2.7 grams of methamphetamine were found in a baggie in his coat pocket. Johnson remains in jail and has been charged with two felonies and a gross misdemeanor.
