BLAINE, Minn. – (Sept. 24, 2015) – A former Blaine karate teacher plead guilty last week to a charge stemming from sending sexually explicit messages to one of his students. Ali Islam Morey, 21, entered his plea in Anoka County District Court on two counts of engaging in electronic communication with a child relating to sexual conduct.
Morey sent a picture of his genitalia through Facebook to a 12-year-old female student in February according to the criminal complaint. After the initial charge was filed three 15-year-old students made similar allegations. Morey is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 30. The charges carry a maximum penalty of three years in prison and $5,000 in fines.
