ANOKA, Minn. – (February 12, 2015) – Last fall, two 13-year-old girls from Andover went missing and this week the man accused of kidnapping them pled guilty.
Casey Lee Chinn pled guilty in Anoka County District Court this week to charges of criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping. According to the criminal complaint, the girls went missing in on September 29. Police were called and Anoka County Sheriff’s detectives searched the girls’ electronic devices for information on their whereabouts. They found a sexually explicit social media chat between an adult male and the two girls, where the man offered to pick up the girls and bring them to his house. In tracing this chat, detectives identified Chinn, who lived in Burnsville.
Early in the morning of September 30, police went to the Burnsville address and found Chinn there with the two girls. They were crying and huddled behind a couch in the basement. Chinn was arrested and the girls were brought back to their parents.
Chinn later admitted to police that he had sexual relations with both girls and that he was aware of their age.
Chinn will be sentenced on April 1.
