RAMSEY, Minn. – (April 30, 2015) – His trial was set to start on Monday, but now there will be no trial.
Chad Geyen of Ramsey was charged with several counts of first and second degree criminal sexual conduct. Now those charges will go unanswered, as Geyen took his own life only days before the trial was set to begin.
The charges date back to Geyen’s time as a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Young Eagles organization. As a licensed pilot, Geyen took more than 100 children on flights as a part of the Young Eagles program.
One accuser told authorities that Geyen sexually abused him more than 100 times starting when he was five years old. Geyen’s trail of abuse covered two decades and authorities suspect there were hundreds of victims.
