“We often look for opportunities to find citizens to get involved with the city so it was just another great idea to bring citizens in to say hey we want you to be involved and we want to engage you,” said Mayor D. Love.
Erin Rehnke submitted a couple of names to the competition.
“I wasn’t sure how many people would enter, because Centerville is not a huge city,” said Rehnke.
Earlier this month her name – Clearopathra – was chosen by the city’s Park and Recreation Commission as the contest winner.
“It was unique,” said Love. “I would have called it The Love Bug or something silly like that. But Clearopathra…. wow that that’s unique I never would have thought of it myself.”
Rehnke was awarded a $50 prize and got to see her name idea emblazoned on the plow for the first time.
“Iit’s kind of fun. It’s way bigger than I expected, said Rehnke.
Rehnke hopes that if this plow ever needs to work again this winter, that it will bring a little bit of joy as it travels down the road.
“It made me laugh and I hope that it’ll make other people laugh when they see it on the back of the plow.”
