BLAINE, Minn. – (Sept. 8, 2016) – MnDOT is continuing to look at proposed changes to 35W between Highway 36 in Roseville and Lexington Avenue in Blaine. They are planning on adding a MnPass lane in each direction on the highway; and as a part of the project, MnDOT may install noise walls that could reduce noise by 5 decibels for neighboring property owners.
As MnDOT is working with the cities along the corridor, members of the Lino Lakes City Council have become a vocal opponents of the MnPass lane, even though the MnPass lanes would end in Blaine, and not extend into their city.
They are planning two more meetings for people to come and learn more about the environmental impact that the walls and the construction would have.
