COON RAPIDS, Minn. (Sept. 19, 2013) – Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation announced today it has received a $1 million gift from Jim and Pam Deal to its capital campaign. In honor of the largest gift ever made to the Foundation, Jim and Pam Deal will be recognized as special friends of Mercy Hospital.
“As the largest one-time donation ever made to the foundation, we are extremely grateful to the Deals for their generosity to the 2013-2015 Capital Campaign,” said Joseph Strauss, Foundation president. “Their gift will support quality of life initiatives for those served by Mercy and Unity hospitals and will have a profoundly positive impact on the health and well-being of our community.”
For Jim and Pam Deal, the $1 million donation was personal. Whether it was routine care, an emergency situation or celebrating the births of their four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, the Deals have always appreciated the exemplary care they received at both Mercy and Unity hospitals.
“Being a part of the Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation’s 2013-2015 Capital Campaign: A Legacy of Caring allows us to show our gratitude for years of excellent care and will help ensure the same experiences for community members well into the future. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a campaign that does so much for so many,” Jim Deal said.
