BLAINE, Minn. – (July 5, 2019) – Blaine City Council has selected Michelle Wolfe to be the new city manager. Wolfe has more than 26 years of experience in local government and is currently the Deputy City Manager for the City of Aurora, Colorado.
“The choice of Michelle Wolfe to be the next Blaine City Manger is a homerun,” said Blaine Mayor Tom Ryan. “The entire city council was excited to have a candidate as impressive as Wolfe.”
Wolfe served as City Administrator for the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota, from 2003 to 2007. She was also the top choice for all interview panels that participated.
The city used Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to help with the selection process for Blaine City Manager. SGR is an executive recruitment firm based in Keller, Texas, which specializes in recruiting, assessing, and developing innovative, collaborative and authentic leaders for local government.
There were 38 applications from candidates in 12 states and two countries . Five individuals took part in a two day on-site interview process on June 24 and 25, which involved community tours, candidate sessions with senior staff, a community panel, a public meet and greet, and interviews with the Blaine City Council.
