BLAINE, Minn. – (July 28, 2016) – On August 1, the minimum wage in the state will raise by 50 cents up to $9.50 There are seven states in the U.S. with a higher minimum wage.
This new wage applies to large employers only, and the state still allows small employers to pay as little as $7.75. That can also be a training wage or a youth wage. Beginning in 2018, the minimum wage in Minnesota will be required to keep up with inflation.
